Comfortable in my own skin, embracing my maturity with a sense of fun and a desire to enjoy interacting with people from different backgrounds, cultures and countries. Open minded and enjoy being challenged to think more widely. Accepting of all lifestyles. Worked in UK in the public sector and the last 10 years of my working life spent working on the African continent. Now retired I am a constant traveller. Sometimes alone and sometimes with family. My solo trips are backpacking based getting as close to the culture of the country as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Its great to meet people when travelling share experiences. I can't host so don't expect people to host me. I use CS to make contacts, get local information on the places I am visiting. I have been lucky to make good friends this way and sometimes have ended up travelling in their country together - that's a real privilege . Even if its just to share a beer meeting local people makes the trip more of a learning experience than a holiday
