Overview
About Me
I'm originally from Glasgow but have spent the last year away from home, six months travelling around Asia and the last six months living and working in Sydney. I'm a pretty chilled out guy who enjoys meeting new people and trying new things. I can't wait to start travelling again and give Couchsurfing a try for the first time during my trip to New Zealand.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've travelled a lot over the past year but have stayed exclusively in hostels and would like to try something new. I feel this will be a great way to experience new places through the perspective of the locals. For now I am not able to host but look forward to being able to return the favour in the near future.
Interests
Probably the most clichéd interest on Couchsurfing but it has to be travelling. Over the past year it has allowed me to learn so much about different cultures and has allowed me to meet so many great people. It has also allowed me to do a lot of trekking in some beautiful parts of the world. I'm also an avid reader, I love films and music, and attending gigs in different countries since I've been away has been a cool experience. I'm a huge football (soccer) and basketball fan.

Music, Movies, and Books
Trying to write this in a way that I don't come across like a total snob, into a lot of different music and pretty much any genre. Favourite musicians: Modest Mouse, Pixies, The Doors, Howlin' Wolf, The Twilight Sad.
Again into a lot of films, all time favourites: American Beauty, Donnie Darko, Into The Wild, Citizen Kane, Magnolia, This Is England, Short Term 12
Favourite authors: Jack Kerouac, Charles Bukowski, Haruki Murakami, Cormac McCarthy, Irivine Welsh, J.D. Salinger, John Kennedy Toole, Flannery O'Connor, Kurt Vonnegut
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watching the sunrise over the temples of Bagan in Myanmar or drunkenly outrunning a pack of stray dogs in the same country, it's a close call but the sunrise probably edged it.
Teach, Learn, Share
Tom Selleck was originally meant to play Indiana Jones. Not what you normally see in this section but it was the only thing I could think of.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My own travel experiences and a little bit about Scottish culture, useless film trivia (as seen above), an open mind and willingness to try new things.
