About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Seeing the world that is vanishing/changing forever while it is still here
ABOUT ME
I am a very active, outdoors oriented and social person that tends toward high excitement and challenge activities. As an avid reader I believe in lifelong never ending self improvement and education. I enjoy meeting new people, love a good party, fine wine and Belgian beer along with tasty food and music. My travels involve a lot of time in the outdoors, often involving treks and hiking in the rainforest or mountains, canoeing and scuba diving. I have been known to exhibit a sardonic humor at times, can laugh at the world and its follies and enjoy the full range it offers.
PHILOSOPHY
At the moment my focus in life is to do what is mentioned in my Mission Statement above. Along the way I try to keep a profound humbleness, thankfulness and generosity of spirit, knowing that I am very lucky to be able to travel the world as I am doing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am somewhat new to CS, but have met some great people through the service so far. Currently I can offer a bit of economic, cultural and political insights on a good number of areas of the world where I have traveled.

Interests
Cultures and natural habitats that are changing irrevocably over the next generation, or in danger of disappearing. I am a private pilot that has enjoyed aerobatic flying, a highly experienced diver, a distance swimmer and an exercise and fitness buff. I enjoy good food, wine, eating out, theatre, cinema, cultural events and spectacular shows like Cirq du Soleil. On serious side, am lifelong student of Politics, Economics, History of Warfare and Current Societies Caught Up in Warfare, Failed States and Why they Fail, Terrorism and Security in the 21st Century

Music, Movies, and Books
Hugely varied in all. I am a voracious reader of mostly non-fiction books on a large number of subjects, though I also read some good fiction, novels and classics. In movies, I look for quality the utmost. I watch more non-fiction than otherwise, like really well made epics, and can enjoy almost any genre, including animated comedies. I like foreign films--in my case, non US films--a lot. My music tastes run a pretty large range, from classical to rock, piano, vocal and romantic, to jazz and that played in the popular nightclubs.
