Overview
About Me
I originate from Marseille, on the mediterranean sea. Educational choices made me exoding north, to Rennes (Britanny), Glasgow and then Paris. I obtained a position at Lille University last year. New french accent, weather (damn horrible), landscapes (flatter), architecture, activities, people's minds (open hearted), neighbours (exit italians, welcome belgians) ... and beverages !
Whem I am not doing research or teaching, I usually travel to my hometown or abroad. I had a unique opportunity at the end of my PhD to travel during 6 months in Asia, from south-east asia (Laos, Cambodia, Burma) to Nepal and Ladakh in India. This was a really magnificient experience that I wish I would have a chance to renew.
I do not really like qualificatives to describe me ... But let's give it a try : let's say I am curious about many things and very tolerant to other people's customs.
I usually travel with my wife, who has studied archeology (neolithic period) for a long time ... and still waiting to find a job in this area.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think CS is the best way to "learn" a country's culture and to have deep and uninterested exchanges.
Interests
I spend of my time with research, radio listening, newspapers reading, photography, and wasting my time on the web.
I like hiking, skiing, rock-climbing, cooking, listening music, going to cinema, reading polars... and recently kayaking, although the north of France is not really the best suited place !!
