About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Diligence in thy calling.

ABOUT ME

I moved around a lot as a child on account of my father being a sailor and going from port to port. I guess that cycle just kinda stuck with me, because I haven't lived anywhere for very long, but that vagabonding lifestyle has allowed me to get to know some really interesting people and places all around the world. I tend to prefer spending time in either bustling cities or pristine natural settings, and I like really old things: buildings, cemeteries, trees, mountains, souls, sauerkraut, etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What a cool way to connect with people and help us realize that no matter where we came from, we're all a part of this experience together so let's make it as awesome as possible!

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love all kinds of music. It just depends on my mood. Sometimes I want to listen to great classical music like Mozart or Beethoven or Tchaikovsky, sometimes Peruvian Icaros or classical Indian or Japanese flute music. Other times I want street punk or black metal or gangsta rap or some underground hip hop. Reggae is always a good choice and so is outlaw country.

Movies: Last of the Mohicans, There Will be Blood, The Revenant, No Country for Old Men...what can I say? I like dark films. But I also like anime like Spirited Away so there's a balance.

My favorite fiction books are Crime and Punishment, Shantaram, Dune, Norse Mythology, and American Gods.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked in helicopter operations in Antarctica for 5 months. Flying around the Dry Valleys is truly spectacular! I was also fortunate enough to spend 3 weeks at Shackleton Camp high upon the glscier where we helped paleontologists search for plant and animal fossils, meteorite hunters hunt for extraterrestrial rocks, and wormherders find tiny worms and mites that I never knew existed.

Teach, Learn, Share

Just keep it real.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to discuss...anything!

How about a game of chess?

Yogasana or body movement.

Experienced in rock climbing-- can lead, belay, or spot you under that boulder!

Slacklining session, anyone?

I love to walk everywhere.

My cooking skills are basic, but my fundamentals are strong. I also find satisfaction in washing dishes and tidying up a messy kitchen.🤓
