Overview
About Me
I am an aspiring documentary filmmaker and want to get out there and experience the world, now that I've finished my studies. I want to get out of comfort zone a bit and meet fascinating people, documenting as I go.
Vegetarian and new to Couchsurfing! I've always had an interest in languages and other cultures and customs, but got caught up in the old education system so didn't to move around as much as I wanted. I would love to speak as many languages as I can.
I am an aspiring cinematographer with an interest in real life stories. Metalhead but open to a variety of other genres. I don't smoke, do drugs and only on occasion do I drink a little. I often get told I'm posh or too polite!
PHILOSOPHY
I am about as far from spiritual as you'll get. I try to keep an open mind but can't be convinced to ignore reason, logic or science and make no distinction between established religions and new age mumbo jumbo. Read about the brain and human evolution and most things are explained quickly and plainly.
If anything I try to treat people as I would like to be treated myself. I try to be polite, honest and diplomatic despite spikes of misanthropy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Fresh meat! I have had two guests before back in 2006 - two men walking from Land's End to John O'Groats who just needed a place to crash in Bath that night. I made it into the book they wrote about the journey!
Interests
Aside from cinema I like to read non fiction when I have the time. I love TED talks and listening to scientists and engineers as they develop our understanding of the human race and the world around us. I enjoy photography, writing, travelling and passionate people. Wish I could play an instrument. Have been a PC gamer for 20 years (Quake!) but it's just another hobby. Would like to become a better cook!

Music, Movies, and Books
Jazz (Modern), Metal (generally the blast beat kinds), Goa (1994-2002), Classical (Romantic), then various chillout, world, early 90s pop, hip hop, 70s and prog or post rock, just please don't take me somewhere that plays chart music! :p
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I just consider myself lucky to have been able to travel quite a bit when I was growing up, which gave me a broader view on the world. I am working my way towards a career in the film industry and am excited at the thought of everything I'll get to see and do.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm considering doing a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course at some point, leading to a placement abroad somewhere. I have some experience teaching Film &TV skills at university.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Will help with cooking, washing up, groceries, will enchant you with my accent and will talk cameras for far too long.
