Hello dear surfers of couches ! My real name is Gaspard (you can use it while writing me), I am a young Belgian engineer eager of adventures and new life experiences. Since I've finished my studies in Belgium, I have a very big plan (crazy according to my family), going to live abroad in Uruguay :D Indeed I don't speak Spanish and I don't know anyone down there, but I'm quite optimistic about making new friends and getting the language in order to find a job.

My friends describe me as a joyful guy, whose home is open at anytime. In my philosophy, one should experiment as much as he can during his life, leaving the routine and embrassing the unknown.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Actually I've been hosting and travelling with Couchsurfind since a very long time ! But this is a new profile because previously i had a "couple profile"... and we eventually broke up, so here is the new one :D

I love the couchsurfing community, from the hundreds of hosts we've hosted at my parents house, we almost only had very good experiences. Some of them are still close friends and come back regularly. Now that I'm graduated and I'll live on my own, I want to keep the same welcoming mood in my future place :)

Wild camping and hitchhiking trips in Ireland, Portugal and the Netherlands.

I also love hiking in the nature. I remember I once made a continuous 26-hours-long trail for a charity with my dad in Spain, 100 km in total :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to teach and I think could become a professor in a long future. I also love to watch interesting YouTube channels such as "Vsauce" or "Half as interesting". I once wanted to open a YouTube channel to explain math to students who have issues for learning.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good beer ? It's already a good first step. I also like to the wander in the cities with my guests, to play table games, party in town, playing music, cooking together...
