De descendencia colombiana, nacida en el hospital materno de Caricuao, Caracas- Venezuela, la infancia y adolescencia vivida cerca del mar Caribe, Olga Maldonado, “la gata que vuela”, nombre artístico que la caracteriza, que ha sido sin querer una representación de su esencia desde que era una niña y ahora el honor a lo “voladora” se lo hace desde el mundo de la acrobacia aérea circense.

2 años como atleta de gimnasia despertaron en el cuerpo la sed por la magia del riesgo cuando se domina a través de la acrobacia, la competencia vacía y la poca hermandad dentro del deporte la llevaron a iniciar los estudios escénicos a los 17 años en la escuela de Teatro Teófilo Leal, hasta el 2do año de actuación, y en paralelo inicia en el Ballet clásico en la academia Sol de Lecheria en Barcelona, estado Anzoátegui, ciudad situada al oriente del país. Es allí donde emerge con más sentido la pasión por la investigación del movimiento del cuerpo, la ciencia que tiene la escena dentro de lo humano, el proceso de estudios escénicos, el particular gusto por los escenarios suspendidos, la inteligencia corporal a flor de piel y sobretodo lo interpretativo, direccionando hacia un estudio más profundo del cuerpo.

En el 2010 ingresa en la licenciatura de intérprete de danza contemporánea en la Universidad Nacional Experimental de las Artes, Caracas- Venezuela, egresada en el 2018, en paralelo se formó como acróbata aérea dentro del gremio circense de los suburbios de la capital venezolana. La poca información en bases técnicas y teóricas en la parte aérea circense incentivó al riesgo creativo y practicar en la tela aérea ejercicios de suspensión pélvica propios de la técnica del ballet clásico, flying low, release, Graham, yoga, contemporánea, generaba otros intereses en la búsqueda del movimiento propio, de este modo los objetivos aprendidos en las clases de danza, estaban directamente relacionados con la movilidad en el elemento aéreo a la hora de ejecutar.
Durante la carrera era muy fácil compartir con artistas de otras ramas del arte, de allí emerge los enlaces que intenta involucrar sobre la escena, la pintura en particular siempre hizo énfasis en su vida, solo que ahora con el riesgo de usar elementos plásticos dentro de la escena, con intención de manejar otras densidades en las texturas escénicas que comprenden hacia una dirección performática.

Two years as a gymnastic athlete awoke in her body’s thirst for the magic of risk when mastered through acrobatics. However, empty competition and little brotherhood within the sport led her to start performance stage studies at the age of 17 at school Teófilo Leal Theater and in parallel with the initiation into the classical Ballet at the Sol de Lecheria Academy in Barcelona, Anzoátegui state, a city located east of the country. It is here where the passion for the investigation of the movement of the body emerged with more sense exploring the process and science of scenic studies, within and without the human body, the particular taste for the suspended scenarios, the body intelligence at the surface of the skin and above all, the interpretative directing towards a deeper study of the body.

In 2010 she joined the degree of contemporary dance interpreter at the National Experimental University of the Arts, Caracas-Venezuela, graduated in 2018, in parallel she trained as an aerial acrobat within the circus guild of the suburbs of the Venezuelan capital.

The little information in technical and theoretical bases in the circus aerial part encouraged the creative risk and practice in the aerial fabric pelvic suspension exercises typical of the technique of classical ballet, flying low, release, Graham, yoga, and contemporary. This generated other interests in the search for the movement itself, in this way the objectives learned in the dance classes, were directly related to mobility in the aerial element at the time of execution. During the race, it was very easy to share with artists from other branches of art, from there emerges the links that she tries to involve on the scene. The painting in particular always emphasized her life, only now with the risk of using accessorial elements within the scene, with the intention of handling other densities in the scenic textures that comprise towards a performance direction.
