ABOUT ME
In my past life (ie.2009), I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ethiopia. My experience as a Community Education Worker really changed my outlook on the world and helped set the course for my ventures in international education & development. I graduated from Brandeis last year and now that I found a job that I love in Boston, I'll be sticking around this part of the world for a while :)
PHILOSOPHY
My experience living in Ethiopia taught me that it is possible to adapt to most circumstances and live almost everywhere, as long as you have a good attitude and friends!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed across the USA by meeting hospitable and interesting couchsurfers and now that I'm a bit more settled I would like to extend my couch in return!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In the summer of 2011, my brother and I couch surfed across the United States from San Diego to Boston. We stayed with couch surfers almost every night and met some really amazing people!! In Austin, TX we stayed with a guy who just completed a hitch hiking competition, in New Orleans we stayed with a girl who invited us to her own birthday party/Saints football celebration, and in Atlanta we stayed with a motivational speaker who also does stand-up comedy on the weekends! Interesting people from all walks of life! Then on my return trip via the Northern route my boyfriend and I surfed in Chicago!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While I was traveling in Harar, Ethiopia I had the opportunity to feed hyenas. I'm not talking about a zoo experience where you feed the animals from the outside of an enclosed area. I was actually feeding them raw meat from my hands, face-to-face, with a "Hyena Whisperer" (as the locals called him) to protect me. I could feel their fur on my skin!
