About Me

Pretty massive nerd. Can be found in bookstores, comic book shops, concert venues, fancy coffee shops, local breweries and small cocktail bars.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd rather see people than places. I'm starting to venture around the United States and I get a much better feel for a place when I'm shown around by someone who lives there.

Interests

Consuming stories. Whether they be in books or film or podcasts or something else entirely. I will never run out of recommendations.

Music. I go to concerts often and music is a huge part of my life. I play the guitar and played drums in an earlier life. I also do some electronic music stuff.

Exploring the city. I can't count the number of hours I've wandered aimlessly through the various neighborhoods of San Francisco. There's so much variety and diversity that you're always just a couple blocks away from a complete change in scenery

Technology. This is my work and has been a central part of my life for at least a decade.

Music, Movies, and Books

Spotify's year in music says my top 5 genres are "indie pop, gauze pop, indie rock, hip hop and alternative hip hop". Last concert I went to was Blackbird Blackbird and Chad Valley and the next onne is Peter Bjorn and John

Favorite authors are Asimov, Calvino, Murakami, Gaiman (so a lot of sci fi and a lot of whimsy). Currently reading Murakami's Kafka on the Shore

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Played chess with Mark Zuckerberg (I was an intern at Facebook). Technically it was a variation on chess, bughouse, and I was on Zuck's team. We lost. He was not happy with me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Programming/Math/Science-y things. I spend a lot of my time just absorbing information about all sorts of stuff like astrophysics, music synthesizers, US public policy, video game design. Really anything that I can.

I can show you the chillest bars, the cutest bookstores, the most intimate concert venues and my favorite outdoor spaces where I go to clear my head and get closer to nature. I'm not into super wild nightlife so if you're into more low-key entertainment, I'm your guy

What I Can Share with Hosts

You can mess around with some of my music gear. Make some beats or whatever.

Conversations in coffeeshops and bars.
