About Me

I've sailed across the Seven Seas and set foot on six continents and there is still so much to see. The nature of my job has allowed me to travel extensively. I'm currently exploring life as a land lubber although I have to admit I miss the sea at times but hey I'm grateful for all that has come my way. Incorrigible optimist. Adventure seeker. I enjoy listening to a good story ... and I can share a few as well. :) Visited Gibraltar 🇬🇮 (once considered the end of the known world) not too long ago - my 85th country!

I'm also a certified Skydiver - earned my Class A license from France. 💥 ✈️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Love meeting people. I've joined CouchSurfing(CS) fairly recently but I've already experienced the altruistic CS spirit first hand ... I think it is such a great concept. I've had the opportunity to meet, host and stay with some amazing people through CS. And I've been able to build some enriching relationships.

It is my pleasure to be of service.

"Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." -Heb. 13:2

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once when I was sailing across rough seas, we rescued a lady officer who had been swept overboard by a rogue wave. She had no lifejacket strapped on. The nearest island, Mauritius, was 300 nautical miles away. It was about 20 hours before we were finally able to retrieve her from the clutches of a raging Indian Ocean. She had drifted 15 nautical miles away from the position she'd fallen overboard. The sea water temperature was above 20 deg. Celsius. Fortunately, neither hypothermia nor fatigue got the better of her and she lived to tell the tale.
