Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission in life is to experience and do as much as I can while I am here.

ABOUT ME

I am not very good at describing myself really but I'll give it a shot.

It has been quite a ride so far. I would say confusion seems to be the major motif in my life. I have jumped around a lot and am still quite unsure of what I want to do in life. I guess I have the rest of it to figure that out. I have so many interests that it has made it a bit hard to focus. Personally, I think of myself as a musician who needs a day job.

I grew up in New Jersey for the first 24 years of my life and I had to get out and explore the world! So I am currently a Chemistry PhD student at the University of Melbourne. My research focuses on solar energy. But I have always been interested in development. Going to India every other year or so since I was born, I have always been interested in developing countries and how to battle poverty. My pipe dream is to bring affordable solar energy to places that are overlooked by the grid.

But in the meantime, I write and play music of every kind, I cook, I hike, bike, play basketball, meditate, do Bikram Yoga when I get the motivation to, read, watch indie and foreign films, rant about American politics, and deal with the clusterf*ck that is life.

PHILOSOPHY

Life should be like your bedroom, if it isn't messy, you haven't really lived in it yet. Hahah okay, this is how I justify having a messy room.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I personally would like to meet as many different people as I can. The more people I meet, the more similar and connected I feel we all are.

I am always up for cooking (although most of my food will clog your arteries), playing music, cleaning, and helping out in anyway possible.

Interessi

I am interested in writing and making music, traveling, eating, philosophising, meeting new different people, experiencing different cultures, and trying to understand myself and the world around me. I am generally interested in anything that is artistic and/or has some thought or intelligence put into it.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Craziest thing I have ever done was go white water rafting in the Zambezi River in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. I never felt I would die more times in my life either by getting flung around by rapids, smashed into rocks, or eaten by crocodiles. However, it was probably one of the greatest most enlightening experiences of my life. I would recommend it to anyone who is willing to throw caution to the wind atleast for a day ;-).

Insegna, impara, condividi

I tend to do everything wrong the first couple times around, so I am not sure if you would want to learn from me, but you are more than welcome to try :-D. And I am always willing to learn something new.
