About Me

Hi/Salut! I'm a scottish student, studying French and Business Management, currently doing an internship in Marseille. Back home I work at the local cinema to earn money so I can go out drinking and dancing and do other stupid things with my friends. I also do a lot of volunteer work. I'm a member of the Glasgow University Judo Club, and I've competed at university and national level, and I generally enjoy exercise. However I also like to eat - a lot.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My internship is taking me to Paris for a weekend, so I thought I'd take the time to see the sights and do all the classic tourist stuff. However I need to find a place to stay and hotels are expensive, especially in Paris! So I thought it might be fun to sleep on a stranger's sofa. Also if you want to show me where the Louvre is that would be nice.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite band of all time is Pearl Jam, closely followed by Foo Fighters. My favourite book is Harry Potter (obviously). I have no idea what my favourite movie is because I work in a cinema and I see far too many.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nothing especially amazing, just lots of little cool things. I represented Scotland at the Youth Parliament in Strasbourg, competed at the highest level of scottish judo, and walked 100 miles for charity (twice). I suppose the coolest thing I've done so far is moving to France - It's my first time living alone and in a foreign country.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am an awesome cook. I worked in a kitchen for a year with two crazy italians. Seriously, I have french, italian and spanish flatmates and they all ask the scottish one for cooking advice. If you give me a place to sleep I can cook you dinner for the weekend. I'm also really clean so don't worry, I won't make a mess. I'm basically Monica from Friends. This brings me to my third point which is that I am basically a walking reference. I love nothing more than making stupid/innapropriate jokes about pop culture, news and politics! Then there's the obligatory language exchange - I'll teach you my bad words if you teach me yours.
