About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live everyday with an open mind and heart
ABOUT ME
That I am a genuinely friendly person. I am easy going and up for anything. Sometimes I can be quiet and quite independent, but generally I like being around people and learning from them. I also love teaching people things that I've learned in my travels; dancing, fire poi, how to cook Mexican (my specialty) or Ghanaian food, or Origami. I'm a coffee junkie and love all kinds of Art. I enjoy having a good laugh at all times and not-so-secretly I have the heart of a 12 year old (I'm a big kid).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never officially couch surfed through this website... I have however, met many people while back packing and stayed at their homes. In Mexico, I met a couple who had an organic cheese and soap making ranch outside the town of Guanajuato. I stayed a week with them and learned how to make organic cheeses and soaps and slept under the stars with their dogs.
In Tokyo, I went out on New Years eve alone since my friend wanted to stay in and met some random locals in the street whom I partied with that night. I then stayed at their place for the rest of my time there and they have since come to stay with me in Seoul.
I've also met friends through facebook who have visited Seoul and crashed on my floor a few times and I will do the same when I visit their countries. <3
Interests
I am an artist. I paint, draw, take photos, edit video and enjoy anything related to art. I do origami in my spare time. Sit in cafes. People watch. Listen to music (folk, indie, electronic are my favs). I like night life, but I'm not someone who goes out every weekend. I like the outdoors a lot. I grew up in the country in Newfoundland, so I was always fishing, hunting, building things in trees and going on adventures in the forest. I have spent my adult life in cities, so I also enjoy the urban jungle and the mix of people that comes with it. I love Spanish, and have been studying it for years, although my speaking is pretty crap I am always looking to improve. My philosophy on living an interesting life that doesn't become stagnant is to do one thing differently every day. Never get caught up in a routine that cant allow some spontaneity.
