About Me

ABOUT ME

Very open minded and curious

PHILOSOPHY

Our main job in life is to find happiness and beauty in everything possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

People are good, and in different cultures they are good in different ways. I want to bring into my life different ways of living and thinking, to be a more complete human being.

I love to host and to be hosted because it's the best way to get intimate with people. Couchsurfing promotes a way of travelling that I am in love with: maximize sharing by entering in a regular day of a local, without too much distortion from the normal life.
I prefer to host during weekdays, even if I tend to be available only from the evenings starting from 9pm: "unfortunately" I am also in love with my job, and often I work until late. This means that probably you will have to carry your bags with you until we meet.
On rare occasions I could also host on weekends.

Interests

I have a startup company in the biotech, with which we develop an instrument for culturing and analizing single cells. The mission is to improve cancer research and other biomedical stuff. This job is like my kid to me, and it fills most of my day. After the working day i like to take some beer with my friends.

Few years ago my job was to research at the University, where I spent most of my life. I love to learn and understand new things, almost any thing.
I play some music, and love chatting with people randomly met :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading, but I am not a book-eater, as I tend to live life "hands-on". I would still love to find time and energies to read more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled alone for 20 days in the US... There I was hosted randomly by people that I was meeting on the way (like an unorganized couchsurfing :-) ). There have been two amazing moments there:
One was on the Christmas day with a family in Texas, playing in the beach with the kids, and chatting until late with the father... It has really truly a family Christmas day.
The other one was in Asheville, North Carolina, where for two days I have been hosted by three guys. It was an amazing time, both crazy, funny, and creative (we also made a movie!). Still in Asheville, but on my way back, I have been hosted by an astrologer (by profession), and we talked all night long, until 6am, about using the mathematics of quantum theory for astrology (back then I was studying for a physics exam... Now I would not remind so much about it :-) ).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some fun in the most friendly part of Bologna: Via del Pratello. Don't imagine loud music or dancing: it's just pubs where people are open to chatting and laughing with anybody around. Pratello is the neighborhood that I prefer, but I am open for other options, including cooking tagliatelle at home :-)
