About Me
CURRENT MISSION
never waste momentum; meet new people; draw everything!
ABOUT ME
I have no idea what I want to do in life, so I'm trying to do everything at least once!
My favorite word is "y'all". It's warm and inclusive and reminds me of Texas. :)
Nearly everyone I've met says I'm an "old soul" - take that as you will.
I think one of the most valuable skills a person can have is knowing how to make conversation - not small talk, but good conversation. It's something I try to get better at every day.
Journaling and running keep me sane.
Meyers-Briggs tells me I'm an INTJ.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal motto is a quote told to me by a woman I met last summer, during the bike ride my team did from Austin to Alaska. She told us, "Never waste momentum." I like the idea of always moving, of always doing something productive, and never being complacent. I also believe that people are fundamentally good, and worthwhile, and that everyone has a story to share.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm on a nonfiction bender at the moment - I've been reading a lot of travel memoirs, biographies, and natural histories. Currently: Arctic Dreams by Barry Lopez and Van Gogh: The Life by Naifeh and Smith.
I like arty movies, movies that are beautiful to just look at! Cairo Time, Io sono l'amore, Everything is Illuminated. But I also Lord of the Rings, Love Actually, and the Tremors series. :) I'll give anything a watch.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
biking with 68 other students from Austin, TX to Anchorage, Alaska in a summer, to spread hope, knowledge, and charity in the fight against cancer with Texas 4000
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to improve my German and French, and learn any language you'd care to teach me! I can help people who'd like to improve their English.
I'm also studying art, and I love showing people who don't think of themselves as artists that yes, they can draw! :)
