Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To take life more seriously and ourselves less so.
ABOUT ME
We're a young married couple living as full-time international students in music. Both of us sing, Graham conducts, Robin plays the piano; we feel lucky to do these things simultaneously as a passionate hobby and a "living".
We met during undergraduate studies at Oberlin College, worked for a few years at New College of Florida and now study simultanously at The University of York, so our life together has been immersed in higher education - sometimes it feels a bit disconnected, but we love being in places that are all about learning and growing.
When we aren't doing music on some level (study/performance/teaching), we like to go hiking and backpacking on this beautiful planet.
We're always pleased to meet new people and learn new things.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is leading. Smile and follow.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment, not much as we're temporarily living in a small single room in a traditional, shared-facilities dorm - no way to host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
New to the website, but have often hosted and surfed with friends from different walks of life, even in the cramped student room housing we've been living in recently. It's a joy to share what we know about where we live with interested visitors, and there's no better way to learn about a new place/culture than to reverse the experience.
Interests
Music - any, but particularly early classical.
Football (soccer) both playing and watching.
Good food, good books, good conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books
Sci-fi and Fantasy high on the list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We climbed Mt. Whitney. No climbing gear or experience necessary, there's a nice path (and thin air!). As we got higher and higher, the colors became more vivid and at the top, the feeling of being able to see forever in the dry desert air...
Teach, Learn, Share
Music is central to our lives and we love sharing our passion for it.
