About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Tudo vai dar certo

ABOUT ME

I prefer to avoid writing about myself, since I don't want to limit myself. I am not. I am always becoming. In any case, in this process of constant construction, I discovered some things that are vital parts of who I have become--and will probably continue to be: I am a very spontaneous person. I know that sometimes planning is important in life, but I just can't wrap my mind around it. Many of the decisions and actions I take emerge suddenly, and one could say I'm rather impulsive at times.

Maybe contradicting this first part to some extent, I tend to ponder and deliberate for a long time before taking any super-important decisions.

I am funny--or I wanna believe I am (!). Laughter is one of the most important things, and people tend to say that I'm almost smile, even though I'm not sure about that... I try to have a positive outlook on life, and I believe things will always get better. In Brazil, there's a saying that goes: all turns out well at the end. If something is not good, it's because it's not the end of it yet. I like that saying!

One of my biggest passions--if not the biggest--is learning. And I mean that in the broadest of ways. Learning from formal, institutionalized education, or learning from talking to people over a good meal (or a glass of wine!). I just wanna go places, meet people, do things and learn as much as I can from them, dedicating as much of my care and attention to them as I can.

These are some things that help to understand that person that I am and that that I'm becoming.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Central Station, Dogville, Fight Club, Black Swam, Another Year, Life is Beautiful, so many...

Books: Brazilian Literature! Besides the many Brazilian authors that I like, I also enjoy Márquez, Neruda, Steinback, etc.

Music: a little bit of everything, from pop to classic to bossa nova. I usually don't listen to rap, but I'm not completely opposed to it...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen Machu Picchu, and there, in front of indescribable and inimitable products of human intellect and labor, I pondered about all the countless things humanity has been through on the earth.

One (quite crazy) thing I've done: When I was 9 years old, my parents couldn't pick me up at school and I decided to walk 20 kilometers to get home by myself. And I did it! I think my passion for walking and exploring the unknown dates back to that event...

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach Portuguese, I can teach how to cook a tasty stroganoff, and I can teach anything related to social assistance policies in Brazil. Please, pretend to be interested. :P

I'm willing to teach anything I know and that people may find worthwhile.

I would like to learn: gardening, carpentry, bike repairing--and repairing in general, quantum physics, photography, how to cook (well).

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Italy, Jordan, Netherlands, Peru, Switzerland
