About Me
CURRENT MISSION
See the world through other people's eyes without losing myself. Appreciate life's amazing diversity. Respect other beings. Allow for the unplanned.
ABOUT ME
I'm living in Freiburg with two of my best friends, which makes for a very cool experience, open-minded relaxed atmosphere and all... I'm always interested in new people, new cultures, new thoughts. I like to cook vegan meals, so we might cook and eat together.
PHILOSOPHY
Equally appreciate differences and similarities with other people. Allow yourself to live in and out of your comfort zone at the right times. Find a balance of deep thoughts and truths and happy distractions. Live from love and trust, not from fear.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Offering a couch and travelling, getting to know people and spreading the word.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had only few but very memorable people staying with me who have always inspired me. Filipe, I'm taking your little dictionary with me to Brazil :)
My own surfing experiences have been equally awesome. I've been mostly exploring Italy, where I had also studied, a great way to keep the language alive. And I saw sides of the cities I would have never expected. Who knew there is great whole-grain pizza in Bologna? Or that a ruling family in the city-state days of Florence built a sort of above-ground tunnel to avoid assassination on their way from home to church?
A small cautionary note though, because I've had some awkward if luckily never threatening experiences in that way: I'm NOT on CS for romantic adventures...

Music, Movies, and Books
Wow, I love Music and Books a lot (and lots of them), and some good movies too. Too many to list here, let's talk about that in person ;-)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Decided to flatshare with my best friends against cautioning voices and made it the most awesome time through being mindful of each other and communicating openly.
Doing an internship in Scotland counseling people on sexual health related issues sometimes barely understanding a word with the heavy accents.
Kept walking on a seemingly never-ending steep and rocky climb to Uhuru Peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and was rewarded with a sunrise above the clouds that would take your breath away if you had any left.
Set out on a year of learning about the world from the people living there instead of pursuing the "career". Really tried walking in other people's shoes and am grateful for what I learned even if in the end I sometimes felt my own shoes fitted me better.
Teach, Learn, Share
As a psychologist I'm always happy to clarify some of the myths surrounding my profession, and to explain the approaches of different schools of therapy. And I think I do actually have something to say by now on how to be sympathetic with ourselves and live happily :)
I love exchanging languages! And cooking recipes. And music.
Am usually most interested in what the normal life feels like in the places I visit, and what observations of the world that leads to.
