About Me

Please Read my "MY HOME" section carefully. If I accept and you confirm, I'll assume you read it thoroughly (especially the part re last-minute cancellations for no good reason or obvious lies). As a general rule I only host guys. Sorry ladies.

ABOUT ME

I love meeting and hanging out with new and different people. If you're not into meeting new people, if you don't want to meet my friends and experience a bit of my life, definitely you should not surf with me cause I'm all about that aspect of the surfing experience. If you've got friends who'll be in Zurich and you just need a crash pad, that's not me either. I certainly enjoy numerous great Zurich restaurants as well. I’m an attorney so that probably contributes to my tendency towards probing conversation.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy this moment, right here; the one that just slipped away. Did you enjoy it??

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really enjoy hosting people. But I should definitely warn you. I have a somewhat extreme personality. I'm extremely curious and I love long, intense discussions. Also, if you msg me requesting a couch, have some good reasons why you're interested in staying with me. I'm not accepting requests that do not specify why the surfer is interested in me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Lately it seems I've had a bunch of surfers who just want to use my place as a hotel. I know there are hosts who are cool with that, but I'm not one of them. If all a person wants is a place to sleep while they hang out with their friends during the day AND night, I'm the wrong guy. For me, hosting is about a shared experience and shared benefits. I give a place and the surfer shares their unique life or cultural experiences. If you're requesting to surf with me, understand those are my expectations.

Interests

Photography, table-tennis, I'm a normal tennis fanatic, politics, art, cycling (like, a lot), reading, politics, I'm a big foodie. I tend to be somewhat extreme about my interests. Also, since I'm pretty busy these days, I eat out a lot. If you cannot afford to eat a couple moderately priced dinners out, I'm not the host for you.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to name as far as movies. As far as books, I'm currently reading Hemmingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls and Müsil's, Der Mann Ohne Eigenschaften.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding an elephant in Chiangrai and attending sonkran, the thai new year.

Teach, Learn, Share

I wouldn't be on couchsurfing if I didn't enjoy learning from the experiences of others. I do.
