About Me

Autumn is my favorite because you can crunch the crispy leaves on the pavement when you walk. I have an excitement to learn and grow through every part of life and believe that saying from Stranger Things, "No one normal ever accomplished anything amazing." So, with that being said - be genuine, be wildly different, and be true to yourself!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing caught my eye because I want to experience the places I travel in a more comfortable and peaceful setting. Sometimes hostels and hotels can be crowded, expensive, and steer you further away from local and genuine people, instead of bringing you closer. Couchsurfing is a very valuable tool in the search of global and long-lasting friendships, and learning and immersing myself within each city I am fortunate enough to visit.

Music, Movies, and Books

Artists I've recently been listening to: Izzy Bizu, Haley Hendrickx, Khruangbin, Lola Marsh, Lianne La Havas, Shaky Graves, FKJ, Masego, Atmosphere, Kendrick Lamar, Astronomar, Major Lazer, and more.

Movies/shows I have been obsessed with lately: Stranger Things! And the 90s cartoon, Fievel Goes West.

A book I am currently reading is Journey by Starlight by Ian Flitcroft & Britt Spencer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I’ve witnessed someone else do: I took a small, two-person canoe ride through the thick jungle outside of Nzulezo Stilt village in Ghana to witness a professional gin maker carve the enduring process of distilling gin from palm wine. He climbed 50+ ft palm trees (with bare feet) to tap for the wine, loaded old barrels, fired them for fermenting, and after hours of filtering and getting drunk off of the steam and laughter, we cheered with cups filled of freshly distilled, fine gin. If only I was that amazing :)

Teach, Learn, Share

My partner, Max, and I can share our home, a lovely dinner, a tour of our town, life and laughter!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with you some of my creative dance moves! Max is an awesome cook and plays the drums, bass, and guitar. We can share our stories about growing up in Alaska, be a helping hand in your garden, on your boat, or home, and be a boost of shared laughter, singing, and/or books!
