Overview
About Me
I am an open person, like to combine the good things of live together with others, but persevering and strict too if necessary. Energetic but loving good relaxing, full of humour but very serious on serious things, broad scope of interest, and lots of things to share if you're intrested, but just as eager to learn from others. I am good active listener, but love to talk too. And... I deliberately keep here still some rules left to complete... as I am a good listener, I'd love to do this inspired by your feedback !
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet up with people of all corners, to talk and share experiences of travelling and matters of interest (look profile), visit do some things together (only if you want to, don't feel obliged at all:-) !),...
And of course... to meet up with you when one day I'll be travelling around where you come from !
So: not just in order to look for a cheap stay overnight, it's the global idea behind CS that I cling too !
Interests
A sane human mind in a sane human body.
Outdoor - body: hiking, bike riding.
Outdoor - mind: sight seeing, musea and sites, excursions, travelling (of course...), volunteering (temporarily on hold), try out all kinds of kitchens, have a good beer and a nice chat with friends, playing pool, listening to life stories, learning to know new people to share things with...
Indoor mind: politics, history (esp contemporary one), environmental things, nature, psychology, reading things about other countries, languages,... Planned: more energy spent to good cooking !

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I travel -albeit virtually- around the globe to discover every week new performers and styles of music, old and new, experimental and classical ones. This journey will never be finished, so I'd be glad if you could help me with new discoveries !
Movies: from Coen brths "film noir" over german Schlöndorff and Fassbinder, the ingenious scenarios of Iñaritu. Italian cinema, from Fransesco Rosi until more contemporary "La meglio Gioventù". A good Flemish made thriller or Walloon social drama. Alternative and expirimental cinema too. Especially like movies playing against an historical or social background, or dramas with good plot and well worked out characters. Talk about it and discover my list :-) !
Books: following my priorities, until now I haven't made that much time for fiction reading, except for some flemish classical ones years ago. But my two shelves down left will be tackled at first:-) !
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Should it be one spectacular thing, or sth "spectacular" at all ? What makes life "a spectacle" and worth while, are the many small things together towards other people that you realize in the course of many years. And I don't think I have a disappointing record in that ;-).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I guess I can tell you a lot about Belgium, town and all kinds of social topics. Maybe some stories of my past too... depends on you ;-).
REMARK:
Please: though quite central, my place is not so big. I prefer to host just up to 2 people maximum, maybe exceptionally 3, but only IF you have your own sleeping facilities with you and when your stay is just one night. As well: please try to bear in mind that couchsurfing is about trying to meet up and share at least some things, not just looking for a free hotel for one or more nights.
