About Me

I am working as a neurosurgeon in a local Government Hospital. I was borne, raised and educated in Leicester, UK. After marriage I shifted to New York. We stay in Long Island, New York. Six members in the family : mother-in-law, husband, two daughters, cousin and myself. We have Jewish Neighborhood - highly qualified, peaceful and friendly people. They exhibit strong family bonding and cohesive nature. They are culturally similar to Indias. There is a beautiful synagogue and Jewish Community Centre nearby where my children play with other kids. We are lucky that we don't have any crimes in our area.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to learn the social model of SC. I want to experience both as a surfer and a host.

Interests

Although I am professional and overworked, I certainly find enough time to pursue my diverse interests, especially for the charity and social welfare. I have donated my milk to preterm babies in three hospitals. I breastfed my both daughters for almost two years. I belong to the HLF (Hyper-lactogenic female) category, having plenty of breast milk for my baby as well as other babies.

My existence in this world is attributed to the society. I am grateful for everything I have. I must do something for society.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Almost everybody can donate blood. But 1000s of Preterm Babies need human mother's milk and not blood. Most preterm babies suffer from (BLI) Bovine Lactose Intolerance, i.e., they can't digest cow's milk extract present in the Infant/Baby Formula Milk. They need mother's milk to survive. They are helpless, often kept in incubator and on pulmonary ventilator, very tiny (0.55 to 1 kg) and must be fed at two hours interval with a dropper or through the tube inserted in the nose. I have donated my breast milk to preterm babies for four years and gave 59 babies a chance to live irrespective of their race, religion, social background or appearance. For me any baby is My baby. That is all.

Once they are strong enough to suck then I breastfed them in the ICU ward of the Preterm Babies. Sometime 4 babies in a row. Each hardly needs 20-30 ml of milk. They recognise me when I approached their crib, raise their tiny arms to greet and cuddle me, and give me a sweet smile. Baby girls often blush! That is the real humanity and selfless love. Heart warming experience in this world indeed.

It is a joy to see how fast they grow when fed with breast milk. We have "MILK SIBLINGS CLUB" in which my 2 daughters + 59 milk siblings are included. I feel great being a woman, mother and also Indian.

I Wish the conflict in the world would end if we would love each other as only humans. No race, religion, skin colour or appearance. Just humanity.

I dream there will be just one race, one humanity and respect for each other. World peace. No war.

I represent myself on behalf of my homeland India.
