About Me

Hi!
My name is Geke, I'm twenty-two years old and I live in Arnhem, a city in the east of the Netherlands. I'm a third year student, and spend all my free time on working, and subsequently, travelling.
I'm probably not the average 22-year-old, because I don't really like to party or get drunk. On weekends I travel to the other side of the country (which sounds more dramatic than it is) for my part-time job. I love to be busy, and I'm kinda chaotic. I'm rarely bored!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In the first place I was here to meet people from all over the world while staying at home, but after couch surfing for the first time I got caught up in the community and realized how many cool people are out there! So I'm here because I want to be part of this awesome community to meet more locals, and to meet more people from my own country as well.
I also believe people should help each other out more often, and that you should share what you have with others.

Music, Movies, and Books

As for music, I like a little bit of everything: Indie, Alternative, Rock. Favorites: Elbow, Florence + the Machine, Coldplay before 2013, Boxer Rebellion, London Grammar, Imagine Dragons, OneRepublic.
My favorite movie is Anna Karenina (the new version, from 2012).
I love to read books, but usually only take the time for it when I'm away from home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled through Madagascar with my mom.
Watched all episodes of How I Met Your Mother at least six times.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to give a small tour through the city of Leeuwarden, so I can tell you some stories if you are interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My company, insights, and mediocre cooking skills. But I'm also a open-minded and talkative person :)

What I can share with guests: My spare bed, which is located in a tiny student room. Fun facts of Leeuwarden and some insight info into Dutch and Frisian people.
