About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Starting in January 2015 we gave up our every day lives in Birmingham, England. We sold our possessions, gave up our jobs and embarked on a journey for as long as we can, in as many different places as we can. We are yearning to see all the world has to offer and in the process looking to meet new people, experience new things and share some fantastic memories over the next few years.
ABOUT ME
Hey we are Gemma (on the right as you look at the photo) and Anne (on the left). Helllooooooo we are waving at the screen as we speak! Gemma worked in sports development (within the area of football or soccer depending on which continent you live). Anne worked as a secondary school teacher. We are both lovers of the outdoors, the good life and having fun. We like to think we are interesting people as does everyone and we are looking to meet new people, have adventures and generally see everything there is to see in this beautiful world hopefully with a little help from you guys along the way. We are two sided people and can be quite deep and love to talk philosophy and ways of life through beliefs we enjoy all types of meditation, yoga and pilates but we have a fun side too that yearns for adventure and thrives from the adrenaline.
PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophies are extensive and change through every experience we encounter. Thanks to a Ben Howard lyric we took the plunge to break free of fears and are now venturing on this journey so for the present moment its probably this...
'We all live our lives in the confines of fear'
Generally we love we live and we laugh... We just want to enjoy every moment of every day without the materialism of the modern world and we hope to achieve this ultimate happiness through travelling.
'If something needs changing then change it, don't moan about it, don't put it off until tomorrow, just do something today, in this moment. Change'
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are travelling for two extensive years and over this period we are most importantly looking to meet new people. We want to share moments with real people and capture memories to last a lifetime. We want to see the real lives of the places we visit. To have a true experience of travel, not just one from a catalogue. We want to embrace humanity along the way and hopefully form friendships across the globe.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have now couch surfed a few times, we have met such fantastic people through this and lifelong friends. We want to continue seeing the real lives of different cultures, religions, attitudes and styles and we want to continue sharing moments with such amazing people.
Interests
We enjoy all sports, running, drama, music, guitar, piano, singing, cooking, cycling, yoga, pilates we also love our water sports and have a double kayak at home. We can be very competitive but only usually with each other and love to compete in board games, thumb wars and any other fun games! We have a PADI and love the water including any activities such as swimming, sailing, surfing. We enjoy hiking and love immersing ourselves into new activities whatever hey may be. We are so easy going, we really do get excited over anything.

Music, Movies, and Books
Gemma: film wise, anything Denzel Washington or a sad and soppy, anything with a good true story. Music is my domain and I am into a varied range of dance, rnb, hip hop and acoustic mainly but do love anything that I can feel the passion behind. Books I currently don't read but am hoping to.
Anne: Films, anything with some action. Or a good gripping crime thriller! Music I have a varied taste from rock to dance. I can listen to pretty much anything. Books, I like to read a good thriller or biographies (who isn't nosey?) and anything with a good plot really!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To date it's hard to capture just one moment that's been amazing as our whole trip so far has been epic but to choose one that stands out is definitely our PADI course.
Teach, Learn, Share
We can cook, we can teach the guitar, we can teach English and most importantly we can usually bring some love and laughs to the household and everyone we meet.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We can share our love of travel, our expert hints and tips, we can share our philosophies on life and how they have changed, we can share honest opinions, love for life, we can share our love for adventure and pretty much share anything with anyone.
