About Me

CURRENT MISSION

never to grow up in some respects :)

ABOUT ME

incorrigible idealist ;)

PHILOSOPHY

difficult to define...it's been changing every day since 1982 :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I still lived in Gdansk, Poland, I hosted plenty of travellers as I had my own apartment- I enjoyed every visit and did my best to show my guests around (see the references below :) At the beginning of my new life in Germany, I shared a flat with a friend, which made things a bit uneasy to offer a comfortable stay. Now, however, I am on my own again -have just moved into my new cosy studio 10 minutes away from the heart of Hamburg so once I'm done with redecorating, I will definitely update my couch availability section ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

...to cut a long story short, it's been great ever since I signed up...I've met loads of awesome people who also contributed somehow to what I am right now :)

Interests

exploring places others didn't hear of but standard sightseeing too:) spontaneous car trips at night, music and its background, Tibet and Nepal, German cars, riding a bike and a motorcycle, cinema (SF being my favorite), animals and vegetarianism, history and 19th-century American literature, psychology (though I hate shrinks:), politics - I'm turning into a politician myself once I get down to drinking wine :) planes - I would love to become a pilot one day :)

Music, Movies, and Books

FOR EXAMPLE: 'Alien' quadrology and other intelligent sci-fi movies; comedies: Borat (!!!:), my bible: "Space Odyssey" by Arthur C. Clarke and "Conversations with God" by Neale Donald Walsch; Philip K. Dick, Kurt Vonnegut, Edgar Allan Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Oscar Wilde; music? electronic sounds of various origin; minimal & progressive rhythms at most, Israeli psytrance and chill-out, oh yeah, electroclash!!!...also rock from the 90s like Faith no More, Rage Against the Machine, Smashing Pumpkins or Soundgarden;) -> Chris Cornell and Mike Patton! very tolerant of other tastes and areas of interest...once an earworm starts torturing my mind, the best way to get rid of it is to buy a CD with it :) Depeche Mode, Beastie Boys, Cypress Hill, Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack!!! Scandinavian electro, e.g. Royksoop, Gus Gus, Trentemoller..To summarize, I LOVE MUSIC!
