Hello! My husband (Alex) and I spent 4 years renovating and extending our house in the UK, once it was finished we decided to rent it out, quit our jobs and travel the world. We left home in October 2017, and haven't yet been back home - so many places to explore!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love to travel, to meet new people and experience new cultures - couchsurfing can really help with that! Before we set off on this trip our home was open to couchsurfers, and we had some amazing experiences meeting people travelling through the English countryside. Now we're the ones travelling and would like to get to experience the same hospitality, but also find the hidden gems, places that aren't in the guidebooks!

Interests

My husband and I are pretty active people and love to get out when time allows. When we travel we try and combine our interests with the places we visit - if there's great hiking or an amazing under water world then it's probably on our list!

Scuba diving has turned into our biggest passion, and having completed more than 100 dives in the last year we just can't get enough - next step is to become PADI divemasters!

We also LOVE food, as my waistline will attest to. With all the new countries we've been visiting we've had some great experiences trying all the new foods, we love nothing more than to explore a city by doing a DIY food tour!

We are also both into photography, there's a selection of our photos on here, but you can find us on Facebook and Instagram as 'GlobalSwans' and we even have a YouTube channel covering our adventures!

Having finally given in to the excitement of travelling full time we hope to use couchsurfing to meet people along the way.

I'm not really into movies (or TV really) if I'm at home I'm much more likely to be reading a Lonely Planet book or surfing the internet in search of our next destination!
