About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Be happy. Really, what else? Happy happy.
ABOUT ME
I'm a really zen person. Life is good to me and I am good to life. I'm always willing to try new things and meet new people. I realized a while ago that life is what you make of it, what you take out of it, and since then I have lived more than ever.
PHILOSOPHY
Relax. Stop. Breathe. Then go for it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would be happy to meet people visiting my beautiful city and show them around the old town, or just go for a coffee or beer or a warm meal if you want company while your are in Québec. I don't have a separate room nor a spare bed, but if you need a place to stay for two or three nights and you don't mind the rampage of the two most lovable cats, then I'm sure something could be arranged. I live in an ancient church in the heart of the city.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted people from many different places now, all great experiences. I even had hosted a couple with a child and everything went perfectly fine. I was hosted for the three months I lived in Vancouver and elsewhere in the States. I'm always happy to give back what this community has already brought me, and I'd be happy to surf other people's couch in my future travels.
Interests
I love unsual things in life and I am always amazed by small details no one really sees. I love strange weathers, walking in a snow storm or being drenched by pouring rain. I love interesting people who have views and opinions and knowledge to share, I love to laugh and have a good meal with good wine and good friends, and I love discovering new places - all in all, I love being surprised by life and what it has to offer.
I have many interests and spend my time between work (I am a translator and really like what I do and have the chance to work with people I truly appreciate), writing (my real aspiration :), arts and crafts, and hanging out with friends and family. I am a very active person and cannot function without yoga and swimming; I also love walking (especially in old Québec City), skiing, snowshoeing, skating...

Music, Movies, and Books
I love books. All kinds of books. As long as they're good. I could list titles/authors all the way til tomorrow, and yes, I have read almost all those I could fit in my appartment :) I also love children's books, comic books, all kinds of colourful books, and seeing books adapted to the stage or the screen.
I have very ecclectic tastes in music, ranging from Massive Attack and all trip-hop/lounge type of bands to Radiohead and a more alternative sound, Pain of Salvation and some other metal not too hardcore, Stromae and other upbeat French music...
My all time favorite movie is The Last of the Mohicans. This is all I'll say about that :) - I usually translate movies, but as weird as it sounds I always watch a movie in its original language.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My two last trips (Italie with on of my best friends Marie and Barcelona with other friends) were complete successes. I was amazed at how different people could get along so well and transform these trips into unique experience. Everything we did turned out great without having to be planned. We just went with the flow and it carried us to unexpected and amazing places.
I also remember a day, almost four years ago now. The city had received a massive amount of snow and everybody was snowed in - or just didn't want to go out in the cold. I dressed up as if I was planning an expedition to the Arctic circle and went out for a long walk downtown, on the plains and along the St Lawrence River. I was all alone, wraped up in this warm white mantle of snow, and it felt like I had stepped out into another world.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you French, definitively :) It's my mother tongue and, being an translator, it's pretty obvious I love languages. So I can teach French, and I am always eager to learn new languages! If you speak Swedish, Russian, Italian, German, name it, I'd be happy to grasp what I can!
I also give yoga classes at work, so this is something I could share with pleasure.
I also love all kinds of crafts and would be happy to try anything along this line.
