About Me

I am American but have lived in Greece, Switzerland, UK, The Netherlands, Germany and have been in Vilnius for the past 12 years. I enjoy travel and adventure and have been to most European countries. I enjoy living in the Vilnius old town. Such a calm beautiful place. I hope you'll enjoy it too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people of other cultures who share my passion for travel and adventure. I have not hosted in a while. My life situation has changed and I am not as free as I was to host previously. But under certain circumstances I might consider it. If interested, send me a personal message and tell me about yourself.

Interests

I love to travel and explore different cultures. Living in Europe gives me the opportunity to easily reach places like Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Italy. I had the wonderful opportunity to spend two winter months on the Canary Island of Lanzarote.

I love playing chess. If you are a chess player or if you would like to learn to play chess, let me know.

Salsa is my passion. I dance L.A. Salsa reasonably well, but am taking Cuban salsa lessons. If you dance salsa let me know. I am always interested in learning some new steps.

I took professional massage lessons.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie of all time is Memento. My favorite book is Steppenwolf (Herman Hesse), favorite music type is Latin / salsa (like Carlos Santana- Smooth) and R & B. Amy Winehouse was amazing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing experience of my life so far has been becoming a father. I have a young son who is a delight to have around. I am divorced and he lives with me half time. When he is with me, I don't host. I prefer to spend time with my son. Please understand that this greatly limits my hosting availability.

One of the most exciting adventures I had was traveling the ring road in Iceland. Iceland is one of the most beautiful countries I have ever visited. I was amazed that mother nature had packed so many incredible geysers, waterfalls, icebergs, glaciers, volcanoes and assorted animals into one small island. If you get a chance, definitely go there. But you better not get me started on Iceland, because I will probably talk for hours about it and bore you to tears.

I was in a MOVIE! It was a tiny speaking part in a movie that played on the History channel. I even have my own page in IMDB.

I saw a baby being born (not my own).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach German, Greek, Lithuanian, Juggling, Physiology, Chess and of course English (mother tongue ). I can teach basic steps of salsa, bachata and kizomba
