About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore the worlds culture, arts & inspiration while creating artwork based on these influences as much as possible while enjoying the all the fun and beauty that life has to offer!
ABOUT ME
I'm a professional artist, I recently graduated from Cal Sate Long Beach. I've been living in and loving Long Beach, CA for about 4 years but I'm actually from northern CA in the Bay Area which I also love to death. I'm vegan (5yrs on) I do respect and appreciate animals & animal rights as well as nature, the city holds a strong place in my heart too! After graduating college and before I get to grounded I decided I want to see and experience the mysteries and art in all it's existence and incredible history in other parts of the world. The people that I have met and spent time with have influenced me and inspired me as much as all the amazing art that I have been empowered now and throughout my entire life. In turn I give back and share these enlightened experiences with the rest of the world via creating art and sharing my thoughts and ideas. I started off this journey by volunteering on an organic farm in Spain (via the organization WWOOF) but now I have been exploring and touristing as much as possible to gain a wide range of experiences while traveling my first time in Europe!
PHILOSOPHY
I love love and hate hate.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have done live painting for benefits & enjoy contributing my artistic abilities in every way possible from face painting at events to oil painting for work and volunteering. I have showed my work in several galleries and at times helped in the curatorial process and creation of some shows. I enjoy inspiring & contributing to everyone that has done so to me & to keep creativity alive! Recently I have been working on making a collection of 100 plus little art pieces ranging from 1"x1" to no larger than 8.5"x8.5" .They are very detailed & are created with a wide range of expressive materials, such as oil paintings on miniature canvases, water colors, drawings on different types of paper and boards, and a lot of experimental mixed medias such as ink and pastel, colored pencil & ink,& even oil & ink on yupo paper.I have studied art in many forms via completing my BA in studio art with an emphasis in illustration.I often enjoy depicting the imagery of subjects with a history, strong aesthetic quality that depending on context and environment could otherwise be overlooked symbolism is sometimes prevalent in my art. Wether the subject is personal or observably fascinating all in it's own entity.
I had 10 little pieces completed before my Europe trip, now I have more than doubled that after about a month and a half in Spain, when I complete the entire collection I will have a big art show/event exhibiting the 100+ works to the public that have been created. The art explores the subject matter that has inspired, fascinated & propelled me through life. I'm working in smaller sizes due to the freedom of keeping my tools on hand where ever I go. From Long Beach to Europe the collection will be called Little Goes a Long Way.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's very new to me but it's life changing without a doubt I highly enjoy and recommend it!
Interests
I greatly enjoy going to art galleries, making art, drawing, painting, sculpting, sketching, making collages. I love to go out dancing (especially in Spain) I also like outdoorsy activities such as hiking, camping, backpacking, skateboarding, roller coasters, live shows (music and performance art), have and will always love punk shows, meandering into spontaneous adventures, boogie boarding, swimming at the beach, water balloon fights, skydiving, bungee jumping, bike riding, rock climbing and pretty much anything that is exciting and gets my adrenaline pumping.
On the contrast I really adore learning, reading an occasional good movie, short films and documentaries. I love spending time with friends/fam and always making new ones.
