About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Continue being impressed at the great things life has to offer through meeting new people and appreciating new cultures.
ABOUT ME
Hello (: My name's Genesis, but most of my friends call me Gen. I'm currently living back home in Los Angeles . I have a double bachelors degree in Italian Studies and Global Studies and am currently applying for my masters in Europe for International Relations/European Studies. I have a huge passion for traveling and encountering new cultures. Learning new languages is kind of a hobby for me. I'm a very spontaneous and easy going girl.
I was born Californian and raised in a Mexican household . I enjoy meeting new people (although I can be a little shy in the beginning) and sharing my interests, making little connections with everyone I cross paths with. I laugh often and I am a huge fan of dope vibes! I am a pretty eclectic person, in the sense that I'm into pretty much everything to some level, per se.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been on couch surfing for three years now, but I've yet to go out and try it myself. I've had great experiences with hosting people and I'm hoping to someday venture out myself and meet other couch surfers(: I like the idea of cultural exchange and I believe that it's important to appreciate what people from various paths of life have to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books
Films: I love almost all types of films and am always open to recommendations
Music: My all-time favorite bands are The Cure and The Smiths, but I also adore classical music, all bachata/salsa/cumbia music, and all alt-rock/rock in general. I have a very varied taste in music; having studied music for a good 9 years of my life allowed for me to develop an appreciation for all sorts of genres.
Literature: Hemingway, Frost, Edgar Allan Poe, Pablo Neruda, Dr. Seuss, Emily Dickinson, Fitzgerald, and many more. I am currently studying Italian literature, so my palette is always growing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'd say that the most amazing thing I've done so far would have to be growing the courage to leave my country and experience an entire new life style and culture on my own. Going abroad to Italy for a year has been the most challenging thing I have ever done in my life, but also the most fruitful.
Teach, Learn, Share
As a couch surfer, I fell that I can practically offer anything from the simple notion of hospitality to a greater personal inter-cultural connection. I love sharing experiences with others and making unforgettable memories.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm a very fun-spirited girl, I love learning new things as well as teaching people what I know! I speak English, Spanish, Italian, and conversational German, I can cook, and I make a great dancing partner! (;
I also never forget when people do me favors, so I hope to be able to host people or simply show them around my city when I return to California!
