About Me

I'm about to start my honours year after completing a bachelor of fine arts in interactive and visual design and creative writing. My honours will look at fairy tales and the different versions and tellings (really just an excuse to watch the zillion terrible adaptations). In 2013 I went on exchange to London which was, of course, defining and incredible. I backpacked a far bit in that time, I can never even begin to state my favourite times and experiences, but I loved the harsh beauty of Iceland.

I've travelled a fair bit around the native habitat, my parents would take my younger brother and I out of school for months on end and we'd travel the top end. I'm dying to do a bit more roadtripping, especially around southern Australia, I have this idea of cycling the Great Ocean Road, which I haven't researched in the slightest. (current bike probably isn't feasible, my fifth gear doesn't work and the seat is duct taped together, looks totes new age).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I miss my travels and I'm proud of my city. I'd love to live vicariously through some travellers and help them find the cool bursts of personality throughout Brisbane.

Music, Movies, and Books

Jane Eyre, Jane Eyre, Jane Eyre.
I also love fantasy: Trudi Canavan, Patrick Rothfuss, Peter V Brett, Cornelia Funke.
I'm also a total sucker for Jane Austen; Pride and Prejudice is a master piece.
Dodie Smith's 'I Capture the Castle'.

I love alt rock and folk music. Some good ole Seekers, The Wombats, St Vincent, Ballpark Music (Brisbane based), Tom O'dell, Ed Sheeran, Bastille, Frightened Rabbit, Alt-J.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed Uluru in my younger days (when travelling 'Straya with the rents). I just remember a feeling of pure joy, or adrenaline and liberation. I'm not really sure what, but it was happiness: the vastness of my country and the steepness and random enormity of Uluru was exhilarating.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In
