ABOUT ME

GENIE

I seem to live more for my passions than my study/work :) However, I'm lucky enough to be studying a field that I actually like too.

I am not generally a morning person, but some of the things that I will get up for at any time are:

- languages. Love listening to them, learning bits of new ones, learning their origins... French is my particular favourite and has been for many years, however I am coming to the conclusion that I'll also give Spanish the time of day :P I like other languages too, but as yet don't know enough of them to pronounce definite opinions.

- rowing, of the scull variety (i.e. with two oars), however I've done sweeping too (i.e. single oar).

TOM

An Aussie keen to meet people from other places. I'm into scotch, ancient mythology and mountain-bike riding. I'll enjoy sharing a glass of wine or a beer with you looking out over Newcastle from our verandah.

I've hosted for some time in Townsville, and Tom and I surfed through a few countries in Europe.

I've hosted 'by proxy' with my housemate in Sydney too.

I will happily share food experiences!! Whether that involves making something at home, going for a meal at a local restaurant, or just cracking open a bottle of good wine with some cheese.

BOOKS: Some of the "usual suspects" are Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. Also the Tarzan and Barsoom series by E.R. Burroughs, Jane Austen's works, Mireille Guilano's books, etc.
MOVIES: Screen versions of the above, the X-men series, La Gloire de Mon Pere, Hors de Prix, The Secret Garden, etc.
MUSIC: Jason Mraz, Marc Lavoine, Carla Bruni, MC Solaar, Crowded House, Benabar, etc.
