About Me
Joined couch surfing over 10 years ago. Used to host in Tokyo. Now living in Los Angeles. Getting active on here again. LOVE that this community still exists!
CURRENT MISSION
- Bring more joy, love and connection to the world through latin dance. Bring the best salsa and bachata training to the world through home based, online programs.
ABOUT ME
Life has been quite an adventure. I grew up in Eugene, Oregon, USA and went to college there as well. My junior year I studied abroad in Jerusalem for the year. Upon graduating I lived in Cairo, Egypt for the summer. Afterwards I taught ESL in Tokyo, Japan for 16 months until the big tsunami of 2011. I returned to the U.S. and have now been living in Los Angeles for seven years.
In L.A. I started as a personal trainer (fitness) at Equinox sports club and started a Spanish language school. I've finally found my calling and allowed myself to become a full time professional latin dancer.
PHILOSOPHIES
BE WATER
Water completely adapts to any situation it is put in. As world travelers, we are inevitably presented with countless unexpected and challenging situations (which is part of the excitement of course). Whenever I meet these challenges, remembering to "be water," helps me tremendously. This philosophy of course carries over into all facets of life.
BE POSITIVE
This is absolutely vital in life! We all have our challenges and there will always be pain. What's important, however, is how we react to those challenges and focus on positive outcomes.

"Change place, change fortune"
- Hebrew Adage -
I believe that we all have things that we are innately attracted to, but we don't know what those things are until we discover that they exist. For me, some of things things are foreign languages, learning, traveling and dancing. For example, if I hadn't tried taking a salsa class in college, I wouldn't have discovered my passion for it. I believe that it is, therefore, very important to step outside of our comfort zones and actively seek as many new experiences as possible. As life goes on, we then figure out which activities are truly our passions and which are just fads in our lives.
