Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I recently joined the site, and I've been really happy with it so far! My friend and I surfed through Spain and we were lucky to get some truly amazing hosts. I can't wait to try surfing again in different countries, and I hope to be able to host people someday!

Interests

I'm a francophile, so basically anything to do with French culture/language is interesting to me. I'm also interested in cinema, art, literature, music, travel, learning different languages, and food/drink. I love to eat well, and I'm trying to teach myself how to cook!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies... where to begin? Honestly I like everything and will watch pretty much anything: blockbusters, art house, horror, foreign films, whatever.
Some of my favorite directors: François Truffaut, Louis Malle, Agnès Varda, Sofia Coppola, Hitchcock, Scorcese, Roman Polanski, David Lynch, Jean-Luc Godard, David Cronenberg, Woody Allen...

Music: I know a lot of people say this, but I like pretty much everything! Anything I can dance/ sing along with. I like some pop, a lot of oldies, and a lot of Rock/Indie. Some of my favorites: Best Coast, Beach House, The Magnetic Fields, Regina Spektor, the Dum Dum Girls, The B-52s, The Beach Boys, Franki Valli and the Four Seasons, Broken Social Scene, The Strokes....

Books: Breakfast at Tiffany's, Giants in the Earth, Lolita, Ghost World, Madame Bovary, Mrs. Dalloway, Bonjour Tristesse, The Corrections...that's all I can think of right now. I'm also trying to read more books in French to get some practice, so if you have any suggestions please let me know!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went scuba diving in the Atlantic Ocean without any previous training or certification...in retrospect it wasn't very amazing, but at the time I was terrified!
