About Me

I am backpacking through the USA.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because staying in Hotels or Hostels feels empty. It is post pandemic which means the time for loneliness and disconnectedness is over and it's time to re-engage with people.

I am on Couchsurfing because I want to do better like meaningful engagement with locals. Couchsurfing seems to be the answer to the sterile Hotel Self-Check-in experience. I look forward to the vibrant flavors that locals have to offer.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love House Music and dancing especially at parties. I love watching people dance. Miami has the best dancers in the world.

I like to listen to people talk. I miss going to the movies and watching Sci-Fi. I am a huge Isaac Asimov fan. I like working out and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I like making people sparkle.

My favorite experiences are those that I initially dread but then LOVE, like champagne.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Accidentally finished a Marathon.

A true story.

No one ever listens to Me.

For example, I once stumbled upon a marathon in progress near my neighborhood early one morning. Why? For the free coffee, donuts, and other goodies at every pit stop along the marathon path. And marathon participants have incredible energy and it's intoxicating.

But every high comes with a low so when I began feeling tired I decided to take a break from the party and go home.

And that is when I realized I was eighteen miles away from my apartment with just my keys.

I tried telling the Marathon people what happened but they would not listen to me.

Every time I approached them they would say, "You can Do This", "Don't Give Up just keep going!" and the other Runners echoed the same epitaphs. Positivity. I got more tired of complaining so I just continued running, I felt like the movie, "Forrest Gump."

After a while, I realized I had to finish this marathon in order to go home.

And I did.

Mile five (5) of the twenty-six (26) mile marathon route was near my home in Miami, FL. So I joined the marathon runners at Mile five (5) never thinking I could complete the marathon. But at Mile twenty (20) I discovered that I left my phone and wallet at home. Meaning the only way to get home was to actually finish the race. And I actually DID complete the marathon, and that is one amazing thing I have done. It was amazing because I did not think it was possible. Now I believe anything is possible.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people how to use the New York City Subway System. It is very intimidating experience but I taught myself and can teach others because New York City is an amazing place to visit. I want to learn about people and their world perspectives and customs. I can share my presence and peace of mind.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I wish I could host because I LOVE hosting people new to my local area. It's like reexperiencing the fruits of my local community all over again. It makes me appreciate what we have to offer others and that makes me feel good.

Countries I’ve Visited
