Overview
About Me
I am a student at Quest University Canada, an innovative, relatively new university in Squamish BC.
My Question (an equivalent to my thesis, or major/minor) for my degree is "How do we reinvent the wheel?"
Ursula Le Guin essentialized what I mean by this when she said "We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings."
As my final project I created a series of workshops for men to discuss the prompt "How do we reinvent masculinity?"
I dabble in many handy crafts such as knitting, crocheting to carving, blacksmithing, shoe making, fermenting and brewing!
I spent 10 months in Thailand with Rotary Youth Exchange, living with host families and going to school.
I participated in a 10 day silent Vipassana meditation, also in Thailand.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am a huge believer in gift economy and exchanges in place of cold, dead monetary transactions. Couchsurfing is an organization that places community over economy and abundance over scarcity, and I'd love to take part in that movement!
