About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm living in Durham with my partner in a 2 bedroom apartment. I moved to Durham to go back to school to get a professional masters in the environmental field. Before living here I lived in NYC, working as a teacher. In my spare time I enjoy staying active and look at birds, bugs, and plants. I play mandolin, and have a stable of stringed instruments available for sharing if you play as well and are looking to travel light.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love traveling and meeting people but hate tourism (Oh look! A building! *takes picture, buys food, leaves). I think places are determined by people and culture, not sights and museums. I'd rather meet someone from a place I'm visiting and see how they live than stay in a hotel or hostel and follow the tourism office's recommendations.
Right now I'm open to short term guests (~2 nights max, please!). I appreciate stories and adventures. Particularly open to people traveling by bicycle or motorcycle (I also maintain a warmshowers account for bike tourers, please try me there if I haven't responded to this).
I've used this sparsely in the past, but would like to get back into the couchsurfing world..
