ABOUT ME

I'm a simple, but fun guy that loves adventures, beer and good company. Also I love my home country (Latvia), but I use every chance to live somewhere else. :D Currently working and living in Lithuania.

I'm an open minded and nice person that believes in the good of people and has a passion for showing the different and beautiful things that can be seen in my small country called Latvia. This is why I decided to study tourism and why I try to give the best experiences to the people that I host.

Also, right now I'm working as a client consultant in one of the leading mobile operator companies in Latvia. But at some point hope to use my tourism education and take part in the development of Latvia's tourism field.

Of course there is a lot more information I can add under the topic "About me", but since noone really likes to read long texts, I prefer telling everything in person. :)

PHILOSOPHY

I want to live my life and feel adventures, so I can tell stories to my grandchildren, when I'm old. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently maintaining a busy schedule where I may not be able to really host. But if I have the chance, I'd love to meet up for a beer. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had some good experience with hosting, good experience with surfing, and an interesting experience when I didn't find a couch in Olso... :D But you can ask me to tell that story, when we meet... ;)

Update: Also have had a negative experience with a guy canceling our stay an hour before arrival, but that is another interesting story to tell.

Update:
Since interests and hobbies change throughout the years it's a bit hard to keep the list always updates, but my main interest will always be travel and tourism.

I'm also interested in UE (Urban Exploring - abandoned urban/military facilities and stuff like that), but lately I don't have a lot of time to enjoy my hobbies, because I'm pretending I'm studying hard. :D

Music, Movies, and Books

The best movie I have ever seen was "Into the wild", I recomend to watch it... :) It inspires me to travel. :)

About music: I used to listen to different kind of rock music, but lately I like something a bit more calm laike - Bon Iver, Damien Rice and a buch of other artists that play the accoustic guitar... :D

Update:
Since also music taste constanty changes, I'm currently exploring the world of different type rythms in music. Favourite artist for the moment is SOHN, but I also enjoy different types of music from rock to pop and electronic in the mix.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have done a lot of interesting things in my life, but I guess the craziest thing was going to Olso (Norway), without almost any money and sleeping on park benches for two days (we didn't get a couch). :)

Update:
One of the amazing things I've done is going the Laugaveguring 55km hike in the mountains in the highlands of Iceland and crossed the mountain hiking path between two volcanos.
