Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I,m on a traveling break right now from what has become my main objective. That is restoring an old wooden building out in rural Ontario that is in the family into an increasingly sustainable home base
ABOUT ME
I'm an easygoing quite type, a bit of a hippy, an environmentalist and history nerd.
I'm thirty and have never had a drivers license. I tell people i want to be a teacher when i grow up but that hasn't fully happened yet. I'm way more comfortable at a quiet cosy pub than a nightclub. I'm usually happy to turn up in a place and wait/wander and see what happens. I'm a bit of a drifter and live my normal life like I'm camping. I'm happiest of all out in the woods. I love board games and conversation. I've always been good at making new friends and can get along with just about anybody. I love making things myself and growing my own food.
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life to learn and to continue doing so. It has been mostly practical skills these days; i just learned how to build a foundation and frame up a building. But i love all kinds of knowledge from the truly and universally important to the frivolous and inane. I guess the exception is pop culture which just doesn't stick (I've always been terrible at the pink category in Trivial Pursuits)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So I'm new to this here, although i've talked about joining for a long time. Now I am actually traveling and hope to have as wonderful experiences as those i have heard of from my friends. So far I have only participated by signing up. I hope to make use of couches during my current trip in europe and hope greatly to reciprocate next summer when i am back home. I'm Canadian and I created this profile while in Finland and haven't been home in the meantime so I cant get verified just yet but i will.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
plenty of random wonderful encounters over the years but never before through this website..... a newbie.
I hitch-hiked around australia and New Zealand when i was 18, and have since done a great deal of hitching in canada as well. I cannot count the number of times I have been invited into generous homes and thoroughly enjoyed myself doing it.
