About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because travelling is about the people you meet and the experiences you share with others! And while on my journey through Europe with my partner (who is studying abroad), I would be keen to meet some righteous people and get to experience local life in it's best form: On a local's couch.
Interests
My interest lay in Science Fiction! As in, the application and usage of technology and science in a way that alters the world we live in. I think it's just neat. Otherwise, I am interested in Rugby (which I played in high school) and wrestling, because I can appreciate the combative nature of the sports. Tea is another one, there is just something about hot water and leaves that can really make the magic in any situation flow.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC: In the music world, I am a metalhead. Blind Guardian, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, all the staples. In that vein I also dig hard rock and blues. On the flipside, I can safely say some folk like Fleet Foxes really speaks to me. I would say in general, I appreciate melodic music more so than tonal music, which affords a wide and unashamed list of things I enjoy!
MOVIES: My favourite movie is "The Shawshank Redemption" because I really enjoy the themes of redemption and reconciliation in it. Outside of that one, I am always a fan of Sci-Fi movies like "District 9" and "Elysium". My favourite documentary at the moment is "Jodorowsky's Dune". The movie I am most excited for in the future is "Chappie" which is about an AI in a world that is afraid of it.
BOOKS: I am always split between non-fiction and fiction. My favourite non-fiction book would be "Ghost Soldiers" which takes a first-hand look at the creation of the US Army Rangers. My favourite fiction book would probably be
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've had tea with monks who live beside a river. They were very nice people, which is not surprising because generally monks aren't jerks.
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH: I'm a software developer by trade, so I can divulge interesting computer information. As well, I am somewhat of a tea enthusiast. So if you want to learn how to brew the better cup of tea, talk to me and you won't believe what you see! Also, I rhyme on occasion. Also good for random information compiled over long nights trawling through the web.
LEARN: To be frank, I am just miserable at art. Doesn't matter if it's musical, visual or physical. So those are things I try to learn about. Local culture is another good one, because learning how other people live their life helps me gain a better grasp on the world around me.
SHARE: As mentioned above, I'd like to share a cup of tea. And perhaps a good story or two. And even some food, if something catches my eye. But most of all, I'd like to share the experience of being in someone's home with them and having their existence impact my life. And hopefully I could do the same for them.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well, I've got a sturdy build. So if you need help moving stuff around, I can do that. Of course, housework and tidying are things I'd be happy to do with my gracious hosts. Other than that... I can try to cook. But it might not be what you consider 'edible'. But hey! It's the thought that counts.
