About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Get good at free diving, Mountain biking, producing music, brewing good craft beer, explore !
ABOUT ME
Moved to Cairns (from Melbourne) with my partner Bridget a year and a half ago, loving it up here.
I'm always ready to explore around, hiking or cycling. I'm easy going, my party days are pretty much over but I still love to have a glass (or 4) of craft beer.
PHILOSOPHY
“So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.” Christopher Mccandless
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING :
Ready to help when possible, I live in an apartment with a spare room with my partner and our cat so hopefully you are not allergic because he can be very cuddly when he's hungry ^^. We helped a few people settle here in Cairns, staying at our place for a couple of nights or extended amount of time.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As an host or a guest, so far so good !
Travelling in Vietnam Couchsurfing a lot along the way was one of my best experience ever, best way to discover places and people / culture.
Interests
Born in a winter ski resort, I'm fund of skiing and snowboarding. I like tramping during summer. I like the outdoors a lot.
I practiced fire nanchaks and juggling and I've passed my pilot license of paramotoring, which is like a paraglider with a big fan on your back - an awesome way to fly ! But nowadays in Cairns I'm more into diving (Rescue diver), mountain biking, kayaking, hiking up streams to find secret waterfalls... I'm also into upcycling furniture from pallet wood and woodworking in general.
What else ? Well I tried and wanna try many activities in my life !
- cooking
- vegetarian
- vegan
- traveling
- juggling
- kayaking
- scuba diving
- skiing
- snowboarding
- mountain biking
- beer brewing
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm really ecclectic in my choices regarding movies. I enjoy watching comedies as well as Tarantino's and Rodriguez's movies. I don't think I have a favourite movie.
I enjoy emotional music like "The american dollar", electro/trip hop like "bonobo" or "wax taylor", everything 'til it's good from funk to hip hop, rock n' roll in a wide sense (motorhead, hatebreed, hawai samurai), french rap when the lyrics are good...
I don't limit myself to one kind of music, for music can make you feel many emotions.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Solo kayaking in Halong Bay for days and being a sea kayak tour guide,
Paramotoring over kangaroos in the Australian's outback
Diving with Manta Rays, sea turtles... diving in general !
Living in a van for years in New Zealand, France and Australia
Teach, Learn, Share
I can try to teach you french words, some juggling tricks or nunchaks... I like to cook (vegetarian/vegan food) and would be happy to cook for/with you. I would love to show you around some of my favourite spots if you're into walking in nature and swimming in gorgeous waterholes.
I'm curious by nature and I think I got so much to learn !
