About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience the vast rich culture of each society around the world from the people that are native to that land. Traveling to the destination is half the experience; I mean how much of the culture do you experience staying in a resort/hotel??

ABOUT ME

Hmmm...me. For a back story I lived in San Antonio, Texas essentially all of my life. While living there I grew an interest in Martial Arts and studied in community colleges for a while. I am very active; I enjoy exercising, and participating in adrenaline packed events. Most notably Skydiving, White Water Rafting and cliff diving. I think pushing the comfort zone helps me grow as an individual both spiritually and physically. I am up to help anyone I can because everyone is fighting a battle and to lack compassion is to lack what makes us human. Well I am up to answer any questions if you have any, but I could be typing about myself all day, but it is much more interesting getting to know someone like it should be, face to face.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is quite simple. Life is to short to be afraid and stay inside your bubble. We need to get out of our comfort zone and experience life in every possible way. Talk, help, interact with new people and places and explore this world while their still time to do so in our short stay here on this planet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to contribute as much as possible when meeting a host via interaction, exchange of culture and questions, even chores. So please feel free to ask, I am a guest in your home and a little manual labor doesn't hurt. I like to contribute to any meal being cooked, especially dinner. On the flip side of the coin, I unfortunately don't have a place to host people, but hopefully in the future when I purchase my house I will dedicate part of my property solely to the people wishing to travel and experience Austin, Texas.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had such an amazing experience with all the gracious hosts that I had the pleasure of meeting my first time around the world. I hope to meet plenty more and exchange stories, ideas, and experiences my second time around.

Interests

Well I will try to hit a little on each topic:
-I enjoy any new food, I like spicy and sometimes I accept challenges that backfire
-I like physical exercise: rock climbing, mountain biking, swimming, wrestling
-I enjoy a lot of intellectual activities: chess, reading, hearing and understanding why people believe in a certain topic.
-I love socializing: I like getting out there and talking to strangers, getting to know them, because that’s the only thing keeping them a stranger
-I enjoy dancing, from Swing to Salsa, Country to Blues, it is great all around.
-And I am most importantly open to new experiences, either with food, adventure, or culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I always get caught up in action movies; I guess the explosions get me kind of like a moth towards light. I love any movie that has to deal with the mind or sci-fi. A beautiful mind and eternal sunshine on a spotless mind are both amazing movies that I love.
Music: I am open to any music. From Rock to Punk, from classical piano to salsa, there are different moods for different music.
Books: I read more informative textbook type material than any fiction. However some audio books I listen to are great on long trips.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I visited Rome and saw everything that I read about in Architecture class blew me away. I met someone friendly and they took me around the city and it was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever received. I will share with you when we happen to meet my friend.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can offer some instruction on how to dance to certain styles of music. I would love to be given the opportunity to learn the local language, to be fully engulfed and understand it. In all my travel, I hope to share with one another our stories, wisdom, and broaden our perspective on the world that is out there.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Everything I can.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom
