I play guitar and sing in the band Trails & Ways (http://soundcloud.com/trailsandways/), and play synthesizer for the ambient projects Bio Services and Bio-Ofrenda. In the past years, I've organized a project for climate change communication and justice (http://floatmap.us), and with a campaign for a universal public healthcare system in California. In August I'll begin a PhD in Geography at Berkeley, researching the politics of climate change, electric grids and recreation space, through the lens of theories on care and play.

I also love to swim, cook for friends, draw simple line drawings, and write short, aimless poems. My personality tends towards the day-dreaming, soft-spoken, and corny-joke end of the spectrum.

I've hosted a handful of travelers, and helped my housemates host many other travelers. I stayed with seven amazing hosts on a journey across Brazil in 2010, who showed me inspiring kindness and aid, and the Couchsurfing community was the start for many lasting friendships. I'm looking forward to giving back as much as I've been given!

If I've written you about hosting Trails & Ways, here's some more info about the band: we are four people (two women and two men, including me) and we are a considerate, friendly and generally mellow bunch, all of us with extensive experience of responsible living in cooperative housing. Dozens of Couchsurfers have generously hosted Trails and Ways when we've gone on tour. for which I have endless gratitude!
