About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Rediscovering my Estonian roots and meeting new people!

ABOUT ME

I believe the most important aspect of life and art is balance, and that includes having fun while I'm at it.

I am open and outgoing but equally self-sufficient, grateful for my own space, and respectful towards others. I've spent over 18 months travelling the world on my own to discover new things and help strengthen these ideas.

I value learning and teaching, good relationships with people, connection with the here-and-now, and enjoying the little things in life; escaping the money-hungry rat race cliché.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I think people who think Couchsurfing is a good idea are generally the kinds of people I'd want to spend time with!

Interests

I have always played music (guitar, bass, keys, drums, beats), which is my biggest passion besides photography. I have a bunch of different film and digital cameras - my latest photographic obsession is using old full-manual lenses on my SLR. I'm a big fan of good food, and I always enjoy a bit of creative cooking.

Education is a big thing for me so I'm always teaching and learning. I am a language nerd- I've learnt bits of a lot of different languages, and intend to learn (and teach) many more. My latest projects are Estonian because my family is from there, and Arabic, because I recently met a bunch of fun and open-minded people from Egypt and spent some time there.

Music, Movies, and Books

I spend most of my spare time either listening to, playing, or producing music, so the list is broad. Rock, Indie, Folk-Pop, Trip-Hop, Hip-Hop, IDM, Post-Punk, Post-Hardcore, Post-Rock, Post-... you get the idea.

Right now I'm listening to Tame Impala, The Helio Sequence, Alpine, Midlake, Yeasayer, Glass Animals, Alt-J, Dirty Projectors, Here We Go Magic, Grizzly Bear, Kings of Convenience, This Town Needs Guns, Kashmir etc.

Movies- American Beauty, Children of Men, Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Black Swan, and Monty Python and The Holy Grail are a few that come to mind.

Books- Margaret Atwood, George Orwell, François LeLord, Kahlil Gibran

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving over Byron Bay in Australia gave me an amazing perspective over the area I grew up in.

Seeing Lake Bled in Slovenia in perfect weather with no one else around was indescribably serene.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have spent a good chunk of time teaching English, French, and German professionally, guitar and bass privately, and cooking insatiably. If I can do something I'd love to share it with you- meditation, yoga, photography, whatever!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Enthusiasm, good music, good mood, good food, any number of the things listed above.

Countries I’ve Visited

Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
