Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm an engineering student from England, I'm very passionate about music and also enjoy cooking very much. I haven't had opportunities to travel very much in my life, but I'm looking to fix that! I adore meeting new people that I can connect with and share experiences with, and the idea of doing that with friendly strangers in a foreign country fills me with anticipation.
I have been playing guitar for around 12 years now, looking at lots of different styles, as well as having a go at flute, banjo and mandolin. I also sing classically. As for listening, I like basically all music as long as it's not boring. I've recently become vegetarian and am very excited to learn new recipes if people have them to offer.
Additionally, I enjoy playing squash, playing chess and growing beards.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I attended a couchsurfing meet in London in August 2016 where I learned the wonderful fact that, in essence, the currency exchanged for couchsurfing is conversation and sharing experiences with your host. At first, aribnb seemed to fulfill the need I had for staying abroad, but couchsurfing seems to be exactly how it should be done! It's a focus on the human side of travelling and I can't wait to try it out!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
At the end of 2015 I got involved with a homeless shelter that planned to help homeless people during the winter in Leamington Spa in England. Although we meant to only work in the winter, we are still going and will probably continue into 2017. I am primarily involved with the food side of the work but am a part of all of the roles and have formed connections with everyone, from the volunteers to the guests. It's helped me grow as an adult and as a person and it's an experience that I'll treasure for the rest of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have taught maths and guitar to people in the past, since those things are my strengths. I am learning Japanese and am still on a Civil Engineering course at The University of Warwick.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a fairly large sum of music knowledge which I love to share with people and have others add to; I play guitar and a few other instruments and would be glad to have the opportunity to do that; I love to cook and would love to show people what I know and learn more. Although I plan not to bring my laptop, I also love to play video games with people, but board games can also work!
