I'm going to 陕西师范大学 in Xian this spring and want to get to know Xian and travel around China as much as I can. My main hobbies are running, rock climbing, and hiking or almost any activity in nature. Other than that I really want to practice my Chinese and get to know parts of China that I have never been before. Message me if you want to grab coffee, backpack, or wander around Xian!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I did a year abroad in Beijing during high school and fell in love with Chinese and living abroad. Since then I’ve known that I wanted to backpack and when I got a chance to come to China for a semester I had to do it. I also really want to improve my mandarin and travel to more adventurous places than I have before. Couch surfer seems like a great way to do this while meeting some amazing people.

The Princess Bride, The Fall, Manhattan, and Duck Soup. I’ve been watching a bunch of Zhang Yimou to practice my Chinese too and they’re all beautiful movies.
Mostly hippy music, but I listen to a bunch of rap on top of that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last summer when I was teaching English I went to in Huangshan and we spent two days hiking the trails. We had only brought a blanket, instant coffee, and oatmeal for food so we spent the whole time eating oatmeal mixed with the coffee and huddling for warmth, but it was the most beautiful place that I had ever been and the bad planning made it all the more fun.
去年夏天我当英语老师的时候我和我的同事去黄山。是我去过最漂亮的地方。我们花两天在山上漫步。我们只带一个伙子，咖啡和麦片所以我们就吃冷的麦片跟即溶咖啡。还需要包围有好多热。是我最喜欢的体检之一。
