About Me

For the most part, I’m a very silly individual. I spend much of my time on side-quests and involved in experiments in different ways to travel and validate my bulging ego.

Some of these side-quests include: an Oxford education, long-distance hitch-hiking, learning languages which I promptly forget, keelboat sailing / deliveries, high-altitude mountaineering (mum not very happy about this one), journalism / autobiographical writing, and dancing on a hell of a lot of tables.

Currently I’m living in Sri Lanka for the surf season :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on a quest to travel to every country in the world and that shit expensive; I also think that Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to get a non-“sanitised” experience of a place and culture whilst also meeting cool people.

Music, Movies, and Books

My first loves are rap and funk in all their forms, though my taste can get random and eclectic. I love a good concept album. My favourite artist at the moment is probably Lil Wayne.

My favourite writers are Grahame Greene, Kurt Vonnegut, Aldous Huxley, Albert Camus, and Italo Calvino. Increasingly I’m becoming enamoured of satire in all its forms, as well as New Journalism (a genre I hope to contribute to).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Convinced my parents that this isn’t a phase.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a bit of English, I’d like to learn a bit of whatever language my host speaks

What I Can Share with Hosts

Infinite stupid travel stories and half-decent cooking
