About Me
I moved to Boone in August and share a small one bedroom apartment with my girlfriend Sierra. We have a futon in the living room / kitchen that you're welcome to sleep on. We can share the kitchen and bathroom too. It's a small and cozy space.
I'm going to grad school in Boone for sustainable technology to learn about energy efficient buildings, solar power, and grid technology. Some things about me... I recently started keeping honeybees, I like adventure, nature, sustainable agriculture, gardening, deep conversation, good beer, cheap beer, cooking, eating food, dogs, writing, reading and lots of other stuff.
I graduated from Virginia Tech's engineering program in May 2016 and went on a four month bicycle touring trip from Blacksburg VA to San Diego and then up the coast to San Francisco. I did this trip alone and self-supported, used couchsurfing a handful of times, but mostly used Warmshowers which is couchsurfing for bike touring. I like to think I nearly mastered the art of meeting and living with strangers! I am forever in debt to the people who took me in and just want to give back to the couchsurfing community as much as possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To travel on a budget and meet cool people. I'd like to learn more about the place that I'm visiting and I think the best way to do that is to learn directly from someone who lives there. Work stays and couchsurfing have always appealed to me because they give you a more intimate connection with an area and are a great personal learning experience. Also, helping my fellow travelers do the same!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Once I slept at 14,000 feet on the side of Mt. Whitney during a meteor shower and saw the sun rise from the top the next morning.
Teach, Learn, Share
