I joined Couchsurfing back in late 2019, planning to travel the world and meet cool new friends in 2020... Well, we all know how that went. I finally made the leap and went all across Italy in May of this year, and Athens in Greece for the last week.

I love meeting creative people. I adore art, and I am very passionate about literature, cinema, poetry, opera, and especially photography. I really love shooting on film, but I use digital too.

I have always had a strong sense of wanderlust, and I have always wanted to experience the beauty and richness of other cultures while meeting interesting people. I want to meet like-minded people who share the same passions and interests as me, so that I can have a rich and diverse set of friends incomparable to most other people! But I'm also interested in meeting and befriending people who are different too, of course. It would be boring if we were all the same, and there's always something interesting to learn from a different perspective. I just want to go on adventures and create beautiful new memories and experiences for myself.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Books: I love the classics, and I'm a sucker for Romanticism. Lord Byron, Percy Shelley, Leopardi, Joyce, Hemingway, and many others.

Movies: Some of my favorite directors are Jean Cocteau, Abbas Kiarostami, Akira Kurosawa, Andrei Tarkovsky, Luchino Visconti, Federico Fellini, Pedro Almodovar, and David Lynch.

Music: I have a pretty wide variety in genres that I love. I love the composers Rachmaninov, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Puccini... I love jazz, house, and some old pop too.

I absolutely love film photography, it's something I'm very passionate about.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

In Palermo, I went into a caffe for a quick shot of espresso. I told the man at the bar that I was American and that my Italian is very limited, but I made the effort to order my coffee in Italian without falling back on English. The old Sicilian man running the place gave me a thumbs up and said "bravo!" It's a small thing, but it made me so happy to get the seal of approval from a local for making the effort.

For when I am abroad, I can teach and help with English. I would love to recommend great books and films as well!

If you'd like to learn about poetry, I could teach you about different forms of English poetry and some of the different details; like the Shakespearean sonnet, iambic pentameter, stress-timing, etc...

I can share my passions and my knowledge on a variety of different subjects, as well as provide the necessary duties expected of a guest receiving generous hospitality. I hope that I can share joy and worthwhile memories with any hosts that I might be fortunate enough to have.
